Las Palmas agrees the bid and Roque Mesa will play for Swansea

The grancanarian player signs with the British club and he will play in Wales the next four seasons. This is the most expensive sale of Las Palmas’s history.

Swansea City announced today that they have signed the midfielder Roque Mesa after making a deal with UD Las Palmas. The Welsh club will pay 11 million of pounds –12.5 million of euros– for the grancanarian player and he will arrive to Premier League this season.

Roque has been a very important player for Las Palmas during the three last seasons, playing 136 games and scoring 6 goals and 9 assists. Moreover, he played a special role in the team, which promoted to LaLiga in 2015.

Mesa improved his level when the yellow team started to play the Spanish First Division precisely. His performances impressed Julen Lopetegui, the Spanish National Team Coach, who included the midfielder in the shortlist roster in the last meeting.

In addition, the transfer of Roque to Swansea is the most expensive sale of Las Palmas’s history since transfer of Guayre to Villarreal in 2001.
